Carlos Roberto Paz Wells, better known as "Charlie", is the first of the three children of Mrs. Rose Marie and Mr. Carlos Paz Garcia. He was born in Lima, Peru, on February 10, 1954. His father, the famous researcher Carlos Paz Garcia, established in 1955 the first research institute in Latin America to study the UFO phenomena called the I.P.R.I. (Peruvian Institute of Interplanetary Relations).
Charlie studied in the Saint Luiz Gonzaga School in Lima, later undertaking general studies in the University of Lima.
In 1976 he gained a scholarship to study in Brazil at the Institute of Psychology at the University of São Paulo. After that, he graduated with degrees in Communications Sciences, Business Administration, and Marketing in Brazil. These studies led him to begin his career working in Marketing and Advertising in international companies in Brazil and in United States for more than 25 years. Charlie also studied NLP-Neurolinguístic Programing with the ABEMD-Direct Marketing Association in Brazil, and is Consultan Hypnotist by the NGH-National Guild of Hypnotists in USA and by the Ontario Hypnosis Centre in Canada, specialized in regressions and Past Life regressions.
During his professional life, Charlie wons: 3 Cannes Lion awards and 3 Cannes No Prize awards in Cannes Advertising Awards Festival in France. Also 4 Clio Awards in United States

in the Clio Advertising Festival and 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze awards in the FIAP – Ibero-American Advertising Festival in Spain. And many other Brazilian and Latin American advertising awards for several years.
Today, Charlie represents the Enigmas Peru Internet Magazine, the Peruvian Institute of Interplanetary Relations of Lima-Perú, the Spain Paranormal Investigation Society of Alicante-Spain and the Sunesis Project in Canada and other countries.
In 1993 Charlie became part of a very special scientific investigation among 120 selective people about altered mind states. The scientific investigation was developed by the famous american psychiatrist Dr. Norman S. Don from the Illinois University and member of the Kairos Fundation, in partnership with the famous MIT psychologist, writer and Ufo researcher, Gilda Moura, also with the help of Dr. Helio Bello from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
One
of the most important selection criteria of the investigation was the
ability of these people to enter into a self-reported, non-ordinary state
of consciousness or trance that developed spontaneously after their abduction
or contact experiences. Analysis of their EEGs revealed that all subjects
entered voluntarily into an hyperaroused trance. In this state, they maintained
a condition of muscular relaxation and immobility while their EEGs exhibited
high frequency (beta) activity at all 19 electrode sites, but with maximum
activity at the prefrontal and adjacent loci. Inspection of the EEGs from
the prefrontal/frontal sites revealed intermittent trains of rhythmic,
approximately 40 Hz activity, attaining very high amplitudes, at times
exceeding 40 microvolts. This activity was distinct in morphology and
frequency from faster, usually concurrent activity, probably attributable
to scalp muscle discharge (EMG).
Analysis of 40 Hz, midline scalp activity, statistically controlling for
the effects of EMG, revealed significantly more 40 Hz activity in trance
than in baseline (p < .006). Also, the dominant alpha frequency increased
during trance (p < .01). Both EEG findings suggest the occurrence of
a state of hyperarousal. There was no evidence of epileptiform discharges
in our data or clinical indications of possible epilepsy. Also, there
was no brain activity suggestive of psychopathology, particularly schizophrenia,
nor were there clinical indications of psychopathology. The EEG results
were related to the physiological effects of highly focused attention
and recent findings in neuroscience. Also noted were similarities to advanced
meditative states and differences from psychopathology. This was one of
the most important scientific investigation acomplished with abductees
in the world.
In 1993, the researcher and psychologist Gilda Moura showed the investigation results to the Brazilan audience in Curitiba, Brazil, during the second International UFO Conference and the eleventh Brazilian Scientific Congress of the UFO Phenomena, having Charlie's case as a UFO contactee as the most important evidence of these altered mind states. She showed in detail charts with brain waves in different altered mind states and how it is possible to reach alpha and beta waves incredibly fast. Later on, in 1997, the results of this reseach was published in the "Journal of Scientific Exploration" from the Society of Scientific Exploration under the title of "Topographic Brain Mapping of UFO Experiencers". (Dr. Norman S. Don letter).
However, after enduring many difficulties in his life regarding his
gender identity, Charlie decided to follow his feelings and make huge
changes in his life, deciding to go public in 1997 about being born
a transsexual, and describing the difficulties he had to face regarding
his true gender. After the painful process of sex reassignment, he then
faced the problems of lack of understanding and acceptance from the
Latin society. Suffering discrimination and violence, especially severe
with his being a public and internationally recognized person, he decided
to seek better opportunities in more understanding and liberal countries.
Since
2001, after her 25 years in Brazil, Veronica (Charlie) has been living
and working in Toronto, Canada, where she continues to collaborate with
her Brazilian groups as well as those in other countries and works directly
with the new ones in Canada.
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY:
While
Veronica (Charlie) was still in Peru in 1975, she established an organization
called RAMA PROJECT. This organization was inspired by a contact carried
out with entities of extraterrestrial origin. Later
on the organization became RAMA - AMAR PROJECT in Brazil and finally,
became the SUNESIS PROJECT.
After more than 32 years of providing contacts and interactions with
extraterrestrials on a world-wide level, Veronica (Charlie) continues
to co-ordinate the activities of groups preparing for events which result
in physical contact experiences.
In Brazil, Veronica as Charlie published 2 books regarding her experiences with the extraterrestrials, and 1 about life in the universe and the extraterrestrial influence in the ancient civilizations:

Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, El Salvador, Spain, Ecuador, Brazil and
Peru (some pictures).
The SUNESIS PROJECT is the new denomination of this world-wide organization
of extraterrestrial contacts.
